Q2. What factor is bad for the earth?
Q1.
Which area is damaged most seriously?
A1. The article which I chose was written in 2018 and
2009, so I thought I could compare the old situation with the current situation
and get the latest information. Both article mentioned the same phenomenon
which was caused by global warming. That’s why I thought I could rely on these
articles. According to the research, Oceanian area was one of the most damaged
areas in the world. Great Barrier Reef is the biggest victim caused by global
warming in that area. Rising temperatures affect not only lands but also the
sea. And, the coral reef is severely damaged by hot water. Hot water also
prevents plankton from combining with the coral. That’s why they die of the
shortage of nutrition. The process is called bleaching. Global warming affects
all over the world and the situation dramatically changes soon, so even
scientists cannot grasp which area is the worst now. They just predict the
dangerous areas. I thought more and more people should be aware of the
sensitivities of the earth. Especially in developing countries, education on
the environment is not enough. So, the situation is getting worse and worse. I don’t
want people to be arrogant. They should think that they are supported by the
earth. Humans are not the strongest existence.

A2. Global warming
is caused by various kinds of factors, but gas has many bad points in general.
For example, CO2 raises the temperature. The speed of bad effects is not fast,
so we can’t be sensitive to the crises which are caused by gas. And the gas
harms human body, so many countries should cooperate each other and consider
the countermeasures more seriously. Also, they deprive the earth of the ability
to prevent from strong sunlight. It’s lethal for many species on earth to live.
If the situation keeps on going, we human beings will not survive for a long
time. These concerns were told by the American official organization and
National Geographic. Both institutions are really reliable, and the later is often
seen in the textbook. The exactness of these institutions is very high, so I chose
them. And, what I learned was the difficulty of fighting against gas. Some gas
is not visible for humans, so we can’t understand how serious the effect of it
is. As a result, we emit a lot of gas now. To reduce the amount of gas, the
government and the media should tell the public about the danger of gas. For
example, I thought it good to make posters that warn the danger of emitting
gas. Small efforts will lead to a big success.

Q3.
How much can the Japanese government spend?
A3. The awareness of global warming has increased in
Japan, so the government started to adopt tax system about global warming in
2012. This fact is from Ministry of the Environment in Japan. The Japanese
government is well-organized and has little trouble at the moment. So, it doesn’t
need to hide the truth and then, it releases correct data. That is why I chose
this reference. The article said, in the first year, about 39 billion yen was
raised. The money was mainly used to pervade renewable energy and to restrain the
emission of carbon dioxide. In my opinion, Japan greatly contributes to the
deterrence of global warming. I hope Japan will do more helpful things and lead
the world as one of the most developed country. All countries need to pay
attention to solve the problem, so I want Japan to be a good model. Some
countries try to stop global warming, but they don’t work well because of the
shortage of money. What is needed for Japan is to use as much money as it has.
Global warming is a global problem. Nobody should ignore and turn their eyes
from the truth. The Japanese government should quickly decide what should be
done first and implement what they need to do.

Q4. What did global warming actually cause?
A4. Many people say that global
warming is bad, and we have to work hard to improve the environment. However,
some people don’t know what is really happening. So, I’ll tell you some
examples which you don’t know. Take America, for example. In the Rocky
Mountains, America, tens of millions of trees have died because of climate
change. The temperature rise enabled insects to reproduce rapidly, and then the
number of wildfires have increased, too. Except the problem, water availability
is also a big problem. In Europe, the patterns of precipitation and river flow
have changed, so European industries and citizens now suffer from a water
shortage. The website I saw used many pictures, so it was easy for me to understand
the problems. I’m sometimes confused and cannot grasp the main idea if there
are no pictures or charts. But, this time, the websites were really nice because
they visually helped me understand the gist. And, as for the content of the
article, I was surprised that millions of trees were in danger. If we lose
trees, the ecosystem will be destroyed and we will suffer from our food. I
thought It important to protect trees so that we can survive for a long time.
